Along the pipeline there are 26 station yards, 92 valve houses, 72 mountain channels and 1 hanging bridge. The main pipeline travelled across large and medium rivers for 142 times, across the Yangtze River for 7 times and across highways and railways for 64 times.

SSC provided design, construction and major technical services for the project, and is also responsible for technical studies on designing the pipelines. Thanks to the design of the project, technologies for selecting routes in complicated areas, dynamic modelling and emulation, and large-width pipelines’ capabilities of going throng complicated areas are formulated. And also it has successfully developed technologies for pipeline construction in special areas such as water net areas, going across special phases of the Yangtze River, double pipes hanging bridge construction, narrow-bore tunnel maintenance, and ecological conservation in complicated areas.

Providing services of technique and equipment such as LNG Storage of 10000 m³, LNG truck loading and BOG returning, together with affiliated constructions of control centers and experiment rooms, etc.

MRC technique was used in the project. SSC has applied a whole set of independent developed LNG techniques and devices, which are Sinopec’s first large scale LNG devices with independent intellectual property. Thanks to providing services for the project, SSC has developed a series of technologies, such as a whole set of LNG technology, natural gas liquefaction, decarburization, dehydration, benzene removal, 5000 m³ LNG tank design and refrigeration with mixed refrigerants. Especially the technique of natural gas dehydration is awarded with China’s National Invented Patent.

SSC is responsible for the construction of roadbeds and bridges in LM-4 phase at the length of 8200 meters, including 1 interchange bridge, 10 bridges, roadbed filling 1300 thousand cubic meters, roadbed abandoning 900 thousand cubic meters, and treating 6500 meters wet soil by wet jetting piles. SSC also applied advanced domestic technologies, such as two-way cement mixture piles, entering-rock rotary digging and injection piles, intelligent tension control of steel bars, intelligent recycle grouting, and digital steel bar manufacturing. The project won several awards, such as Shandong Taishan Cup Prize, Jiangsu Ping An Construction Site demonstration project and green construction models, etc.

SSC provided Procurement and Construction services for the project with contract value around USD 192 million. The project won China’s High-quality Welding Engineering Award issued by China’s welding association.

SSC designed ‘Large-span pipeline bridge construction methodology’ has been broadly used and recommended to be Sinopec’s qualified methodology.

The total length of the pipeline is 1277KM. It consists of 2 parts including the southern phase GASCAV that is 303km at length, and the northern phase that is 974km at length, with the pipe diameter of 28’’, API SL X-70 PSL2 steel pipes and design pressure of 10MPa. It transmits 20 million m³ natural gas per day and the EPC contract value has more than 800 million USD. The pipeline goes across the Rio state and the Espirito Santo state. The corporation executed the project under complicated conditions, such as flooded areas, steep hills, deep valleys, rocky areas and national conserved forests; and had experienced the heaviest rainy season in the past 30 years. As an EPC general contractor, we have strictly designed, reviewed and managed, optimized QHSE management systems, implemented local environmental protection laws and rules, and paved the way for sooth movement of the project to complete the project in time and put into operation successfully. The project was honored with ‘the Excellent Engineering Project Award in 2007’ by PETROBRAS.
