Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUS) technology involves capturing and purifying carbon dioxide emitted from industrial processes, then utilizing and sequestering it in new production processes.
In 2022, China’s first million-ton CCUS project – Sinopec’s “Qilu Petrochemical-Shengli Oilfield Million-Ton CCUS Project” – commenced official gas injection operations. It reduces CO2 emissions by approximately 1 million tons annually, equivalent to planting nearly 9 million trees each year, strongly advancing the green and low-carbon transition of the energy sector. As the EPC contractor, the company built and commissioned China’s first 100-km, million-ton supercritical CO2 transmission pipeline, addressing a key bottleneck in scaling CCUS development and establishing the company as the domestic industry leader in overall technology.
SSC has developed a comprehensive CCUS technology portfolio covering the entire process chain, including:

Project scale has expanded from hundreds of thousands to millions of tons per year. The integrated CCUS technology suite leads the domestic industry, with capture technology reaching internationally advanced levels.
